Harrow Boxing Club

Harrow amature boxing club other wise known as Harrow ABC is a fantastic place to not only get fit but also to have fun! Meeting the team and trainees at the club was a pleasure.

It was warm and welcoming which as a woman I sometimes find it can often be the opposite. Harrow ABC is full of talented individuals and tackling this task was no small feat. So as usual I jumped right in the deep end and started with the ring.

Capturing an image is easy but capturing an emotion that’s true art, I wanted to get right in the moment of the punch as it lands, feel the force, feel the power and capture that exact moment of expression. I wanted you to feel the energy jump out and hit you with full force, make you feel like you were right at the ring side cheering then on.

With this picture I achieved the goal I set myself I got in the action and captured the moment it might not be perfect but for my first ever attempt at boxing photography I love it and i truly feel it captured the moment perfectly.

After spending some time ring side I decided to get some individual pictures of the talented boxer just being themselves and training. I wanted to show there raw talent and strength as they trained, highlight there power and focus on the physical aspects of there dedication using the light and shadows to accentuate and definine the contours of there bodies.

Moreover I wanted to show there dedication and the level of effort they put in to being the best of themselves and show their determination to progress within themselves.

If you’re interested in seeing more blogs and events from me follow my Facebook page @Digital Dream Capture and keep up to date with my latest escapades.
I would like to say a huge thank you to Harrow ABC for letting me spend the morning at there training grounds and an even bigger thank you to all the talented boxers that let me get up close and personal as I captured these images.

Home-Start Barnet

Organiser: Filomena Komodromou
Location of event: The Community Centre, Grahame Park, The Concourse NW9 5XB

It was a pleasure to have the opportunity to work with the award winning inspirational charity proudly known as Home Start (barnet) an organisation dedicated to helping support families with young children in a variety of situations by running parenting programmes, offering financial guidance, and providing friendship and support to those effected by mental health and domestic violence. My role on this day was to showcase there efforts and effectiveness of the program by being the in house photographer at there annual vegetarian society community day. During the event there was a real sense of support as i captured women and children sharing tips and recipes as they learned how to cook a sustainable vegetarian meal, helping eachother not only to prepare the meal but to also get the children involved with trying new fresh fruit and vegetables and teaching them to have fun woth cooking and exploring new tastes.
Capturing the images of a real comunity inspiring eachother was a pleasure to be apart of, knowing the images would be used for fliers and banners to spread there message and outreach to more families that could benifit from the services offered made me feel like i could really make a difference and another added bonus was getting to share the day and explore the amazing outcome of the food they prepared.

The National Vegetarian Society

The Vegetarian Society is the place to go for everything you want to know about the world of vegetarian food. This year i had the honor of being there in house photographer after being reached out to by one of there leading advocates and project officer Laura Woodall. During my visit to the Compass Centre i had the pleasure of meeting Joanne Dixon leading director of this years Green Corridor outreach program. Having the chance to work with an amazing group of passionate individuals i put my full attention on capturing there hard work with the use of food photography, showcasing the creativity and variety of the vegetarian options they had to offer. It was a beautiful moment seeing there dedication to the cause inspiring the corporate office staff to not only try the delicious samples but also get involved signing petitions and even taking some recipes home to share with there friends and family. Overal it was a successful and inspiring day that i hope to be apart of for many years to come!
